Evenicle embodies a plethora of typical Japanese video game tropes. The protagonist is a generic character, with an average build and an exaggerated endowment, whose primary aspiration revolves around sexual encounters, including with his two sisters, who are depicted inappropriately despite their apparent youth. While he is designed to be relatable and somewhat likable, the overarching clichés wear thin quickly. The game’s setting—a fantastical world governed by a goddess with draconian rules about sexual conduct—adds layers of absurdity. For example, she curses anyone who strays from marital fidelity, with severe repercussions for those involved, creating a bizarre and oppressive milieu. The gameplay itself is a turn-based JRPG, which is decent but not groundbreaking.
